RIVER RUNNERS.
I'm finally home from Buena Vista, CO. && Wow. What a weeeek! Started with a night in Lubbock with my frands. Love them. Then we went to Camp Kiwanis in Amarillo. Whoa. Seeing their camp made my truly appreciate my time at Camp Timberlake. On Monday we then traveled several hours in a huge creeper vans to Buena Vista! So fun.
Spent one day on the Arkansas River with a lot of high class 3 rapids. Could have done some 4's, but the river wasn't very high. Then we spent the second day at the Royal Gorge which was a huge ordeal for me. I'm afraid of heights like none other and that place was allll about heights.
This is the Royal Gorge Bridge. The highest bridge in the world.
We walked the bridge, did the ariel tram (which is like a gondola that goes across), and an incline train the goes down the side of the mountain. I successfully did all 3 things. All of the campers did all 3 things too, despite their fears. It was so cool to see everyone enjoy the day and surpass their fears.
This is the 4 of us leaders at the Royal Gorge.
We stayed in Buena Vista at the KOA which overlooked the Collegiate Peaks. SOO GORGEOUS.
That's Princeton Peak. Pretty spectacular huh?
Anyways, the trip was a success. I love that every time I see camp or go on one of these my love for Girl Scouts is always resparked. I love what Girl Scouts stands for the opportunities it gives young girls. Truly an outstanding organization. I think I'm going to see what I can do about getting more involved. LOVE IT.
Anways, on to another week of work and stuff.
Life is good,
April
